City of Graham issued the following announcement on Oct. 4.
The City of Graham is ready to begin fall and winter leaf collection. Collection will begin on Monday, October 28, 2019 and run thru Friday, February 7, 2020. Residents are encouraged to use this “loose leaf” collection service because of landfill disposal regulations. During this time, call-in service will not be available.
Residents should pile loose leaves behind the curb or on the shoulder of streets without curb and gutter by 7:00 a.m. in order to ensure collection. Leaves should not be piled in the street, drainage ditches, or over water meters. Leaves which contain gravel, glass, or other solid matter will not be collected.
Should more frequent leaf collection be desired, residents are required to place leaves in suitable containers and set them out with their regular yard waste. Bagged leaves will not be collected.
Questions concerning leaf collection should be directed to the Sanitation Division at 336.570.6709 or 336.570.6710. Please do not call requesting special pick-up. The crews are working set areas on a set schedule and cannot be pulled off for special pick-up. Thank you for your cooperation!
