First Presbyterian Church recently issued the following announcement.
SUPPER MEALS FOR FAMILIES AT ANDREWS ELEMENTARY
Jin-Jin Blackburn and Charlotte Allbright have been working with Pam Burney, the Social Worker at Andrews Elementary, to identify 40-60 families that are nutritionally challenged due to the loss of work, etc. They have worked to secure enough food for food boxes for each family of four for one week. Pam Burney and the teachers at Andrews are prepared to deliver these to the families. We ordered the food from Just Save in Graham.
We are partnering in this ministry with the Burlington Masjid and Shaher Sayed. They assisted in the payment and collection of food, and packing of the boxes Thursday from 10:00 a.m.-noon in Calvin Hall.
Your financial support for this ministry is needed for the next 6-8 weeks. We are estimating that this endeavor will cost close to $2000/week or $35/family. The Partners in Missions Committee has voted in favor of foregoing our usual One Great Hour of Sharing Offering during this season, so that we can fully support this local need. Would you consider supporting one family ($35)/week for the next 8 weeks? All gifts should be donated online at this link: https://fpcburlington.org/serve-and-give/give/ or mailed to Lacey Way at the church office with the designation for “Feeding Our Children.”
Thank you.
