A North Carolina House of Representative Republican is supporting the GOP's candidate for the District 24 state Senate seat.

Rep. Dennis Riddell (R-Alamance), who is seeking reelection, said in a July 23 Facebook post that "We need [Republican candidate] Amy [Galey] in Raleigh," in sharing a post from Galey leveling accusations against her Democratic opponent and also requesting donations.

Galey is running against Democratic candidate J.D. Wooten. District 24 Sen. Rick Gunn (R-Alamance) last year said he would not seek reelection.

"An out-of-state, dark money, super PAC supporting my opponent is sending false attack mailers against me," Galey said in her July 19 Facebook post. "He and his special interest backers are desperate to take NC Senate District 24 (Alamance and Guilford counties) from the people. Don’t let them get away with it."

She said that by donating to her campaign it will help "set the record straight and call out my opponent and his cronies for their lies. ... Help me fight back against the smears."

As of July 10, according to Ballotpedia, Galey has raised $153,616 and Wooten received $170,119
