First Presbyterian Church recently issued the following announcement.
BLESSING OF BACKPACKS AND DEVICES AUGUST 16, 2020
We are continuing the tradition of this important milestone in the lives of children and youth…even with the “strange” beginning of this school year. During the 10:00 a.m. online worship service on August 16, the congregation will participate in a Blessing of Backpacks and Devices. THEN parents, children, youth, teachers and all school staff are invited to come to the church between 11:30 a.m. and noon to receive a “drive-thru” blessing. Children and youth will receive a gift from the church to apply to their backpack or device reminding them that God is with them and that their church family is praying for them.
