Gov. Roy Cooper said on Oct. 22 that four North Carolinians had won an NCWorks Awards of Distinction.
Code Guilford was recognized during the annual NCWorks Partnership Conference, which was held this year in a virtual format, a release from the governor's office said.
"These award winners are focused on getting North Carolina job-ready, connecting workers to the skills they need as well as employers who need those workers," Cooper said in the release. "Each of these honorees stands out for their contributions to develop our state's workforce and has a big role in helping our state recover from [the] economic challenges that we face."
According to the release, Code Guilford was given the award for Outstanding Innovative Partnership, for their partnership with GuilfordWorks (the Guilford County Workforce Development Board), Welfare Reform Liaison Project, Inc., Guilford Technical Community College and Guilford County Schools, in order to hold a four-day camp in 2019 as a pilot program.
