FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH: Christians and Racial Equity Workshop

First Presbyterian Church recently issued the following announcement.

The Racial Justice Task Force and the Adult Studies Committee invites the congregation to participate in a workshop series titled “Christians and Racial Equity”. Topics include: historical context, race matters, white supremacy, the Bible and racism, and reimagining the future. The workshop is presented by Rev. LaShauna Austria, owner of Seeds of Change Consulting, located in Graham, NC. Rev. Austria is active in our community as an organizer, farmer, and ordained faith leader; she has experience in working with faith-based communities to promote racial equity awareness. The series will take place on five Sundays in the spring of 2021 via Zoom. Each session will be held from 3:00-5:30 p.m. on January 10, February 7, March 7, April 11, and May 16.
