WAYNE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS: WCPS to Host Job Fair

Wayne County Public Schools issued the following announcement on Aug. 3. 

Wayne County Public Schools (WCPS) will soon hold two Job Fairs for prospective bus drivers, custodians, cafeteria workers, and instructional assistants. The first Job Fair will be held in the JD Evans meeting room of the Steele Memorial Library in Mount Olive on Thursday, Aug. 5, from 9:30-1 PM. The second Job Fair will be held in the Gertrude Weil Auditorium of the main Wayne County Library branch in Goldsboro on Monday, August 9 from 3 - 6 PM.

“We encourage qualified applicants with an interest or desire to work in our schools to attend one of these two job fair events,” states Dr. Yvette Smith Mason, Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources & Professional Development. “We will have HR and departmental representatives on hand to answer questions about qualifications, salaries, and benefits. We will also walk prospective employees through the application process.”

WCPS offers competitive salaries. The starting pay for bus drivers is $14.19 per hour and $12.09 per hour for cafeteria staff. The annual starting salary for custodians is $22,220 and $21,020 for instructional assistants.
