ALAMANCE COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE: ACSO Charges Male after an Attempt to Steal Catalytic Converter at Fire Station

Alamance County Sheriff’s Office issued the following announcement on Aug. 27. 

On August 26, 2021, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office responded to a larceny in progress at the Eli Whitney Fire Department Station 11. The individual attempted to steal a catalytic converter. Sheriff’s Office deputies intercepted a vehicle leaving the scene that matched a description from the attempted larceny at the intersection of Boywood Rd and S NC 87 Highway.

 

After identifying that the occupants of the vehicle were Daryl Andrew Naughton and Kelly Ann Cheney, deputies placed Mr. Naughton under arrest for Attempted Larceny and Violation of a Domestic Violence Protection Order. In addition, deputies found a dollar bill in Mr. Naughton’s wallet which contained 1.04 grams of methamphetamine. He was then charged with Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance.
