City of High Point issued the following announcement on Dec. 4.
Household Hazardous Waste events are opportunities for High Point residents to drop off household hazardous waste, electronics and tires (with a limit of 4) from their primary residences at no charge.
City staff will direct all vehicles and unload all materials. Disposal is for household waste only, not for businesses.
For safety, please stay in your car. Make sure that items are kept in the rear of your vehicle to assist in easy removal and minimal contact. Please do not place items in the front or back seat of your vehicles or hand them to staff.

Accepted materials include:
Aerosols, batteries, bleach/cleaners, fire extinguishers, furniture polish, fluorescent bulbs, nail polish/removers, adhesives, gas cylinders, paints, solvents, stains/varnish, strippers/thinners, cleaners/degreasers, preservatives, antifreeze, auto batteries, brake fluid, diesel fuel, gasoline or mixed gas, motor oil and filters, transmission fluid, herbicides, lighter fluid, pesticides, poisons, pool chemicals, electronics, and up to four tires.
