City of Burlington issued the following announcement on Jan. 27.
Our Streets Division is preparing for tonight's winter weather. Since the precipitation will begin as rain, we can't brine. It will just get washed away. Crews will head home around lunch today to get some rest. They'll be back late afternoon and get ready to deploy salt. They'll pay special attention to known trouble spots and treat roads as needed. Right now the US National Weather Service Raleigh NC is forecasting 1 to 3 inches of snow with black ice expecting on Sunday and Monday mornings. Stay safe, folks!
