A Silver Alert has been issued in the search for 32-year-old Erik Porteaux Islas, who was reported missing last week.
In a report Feb. 17, WXII 12 said Islas left his Hanford Hills Road home sometime between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. on Feb. 16.
"Islas suffers from cognitive impairment, so a Silver Alert has been issued," a news release said.
According to the report, Islas, who is 5’6’ and 190 pounds, was last seen wearing a blue jacket and blue pajama pants.
Islas has short brown hair and brown eyes, CBS 17 reports.
Silver Alerts are issued in the case of missing adults who have documented cognitive impairments, often a form of dementia.
The Burlington Police Department encourages anyone with additional information to contact the department at 336-229-3500 or the Alamance County-Wide Crime Stoppers to report anonymously at 336-229-7100. Tips provided through Crime Stoppers may be eligible for cash rewards, CBS reports. Individuals may also use the mobile P3 Tips app to report any information anonymously.
