Town of Whitsett issued the following announcement on Apr. 7.
Town of Whitsett Planning Board member Bob Maccia passed away April 4, 2022. Following is a remembrance from Mayor Fennell:
I knew Bob more than 15 years and, in that time, I found him to be honest, intelligent, and always generous with his time. He had a great sense of humor and, believe me, when it comes to dealing with town business, a sense of humor comes in handy.
Bob had always been interested in the Town of Whitsett. Before he came a member of the Planning Board, I remember that he always attended the town meetings, a rare thing in a small town. His comments were always thoughtful, inciteful, and with an occasional joke thrown in. Bob was later elected Chairman of the Planning Board, a duty he performed honorably for over 12 years.
Bob was a true friend to all of us, and he will be truly missed.
