CITY OF BURLINGTON PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT: Afterschool Registration is Now Open!

City of Burlington Parks and Recreation Department issued the following announcement on Aug. 5.

Burlington Recreation and Parks Afterschool registration is now open!

School begins for students of ABSS on August 29! Make sure your child has after school care.

Registration can be completed online or in person at the BRPD Main Office (1333 Overbrook Rd., Burlington, NC 27215)

Children are provided a healthy dinner (tentative), snack, homework assistance, and organized games in a safe, fun, recreational environment to keep children active and engaged in physical activities.  There will be special activities throughout the school year with field trips, and special guests offering fun projects and treats. Full Time and Part Time options are available!

To lock in a spot for your child at an Afterschool Program, register online or in person. Sites are tentative based on enrollment.

*We must have a minimum of 10 students to operate any Afterschool program.*

To be eligible for Afterschool & Rec Days: 1) a child must currently attend kindergarten AND 2) be 5 years old on or before August 31, 2022.

PROGRAMS SITES

The Burlington Recreation and Parks Department and the Alamance-Burlington School System offer Afterschool Programs at the following locations:

• Andrews Elementary

• Grove Park Elementary

• Hillcrest Elementary

PICK UP & DROP OFF PROGRAMS

• Thataways Youth Center for students of Smith Elementary and Newlin Elementary.
