COUNTY OF GUILFORD: Commissioners presented a Proclamation in Observance and Remembrance of Veterans Day to Veteran Services Director, Robert Shelly

County of Guilford issued the following announcement on Nov. 7.

Guilford County Government Commissioners presented a Proclamation in Observance and Remembrance of Veterans Day to Veteran Services Director, Robert Shelly during yesterday's Board meeting. The proclamation was read by District 7 Commissioner Frankie T. Jones, Jr.

This proclamation comes on the heels of a resolution presented at the October 20, 2022 meeting supporting Operation Green Light for Veterans. Operation Green Light is a national initiative presented by the National Association of Counties (NACo) and the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers (NACVSO) asking the nation’s 3,069 counties, parishes, and boroughs to show support for veterans by lighting buildings green from November 7 to November 13, 2022.

By shining a green light, county governments and residents will let veterans know that they are seen, appreciated and supported.

Show your support by displaying a green light at your home or business and share your photos using #GuilfordGlowsGreen.
