The White family hadn’t been all together for about three decades; they finally reunited over the Thanksgiving holiday.

Faye White said she doesn't take Thanksgiving for granted, adding that since her family couldn’t get together many times in the past, she and her husband would spend Thanksgiving with friends some years, while other years they'd visit Garner when their daughter would host Thanksgiving.

"The years that we did not go anywhere, I was kind of depressed,” Faye White said in a WFMY report.

So the prospect of both of their children and their families coming to Burlington to celebrate the holiday was something worth looking forward to.

She said she and her husband were longing for the day everyone would be back together again for Thanksgiving.

"Ten years ago, we had it here and it was just our daughter, grandsons, son-in-law, and her two boys,” Faye White said. The last time the whole family was together was 1992, and that’s one of the more memorable Thanksgiving Faye White can recall.

It’s since been hard for everyone to get together because their son was in the military, then became a Vermont State Trooper, two jobs that made it difficult for him to make it home for the holidays.

"We are going to laugh a lot maybe a few tears here and there,” Faye White said as she awaited the reunion.
