CITY OF HIGH POINT: Ingleside Compost Facility will be giving away wood mulch from the facility free of charge

City of High Point issued the following announcement on Dec. 8.

For a limited time, Ingleside Compost Facility will be giving away wood mulch from the facility free of charge. This mulch is ideal for paths, water retention and weed barriers. It is not appropriate for placing directly around flowers and less hardy vegetables due to potential acidity and tannins that can burn plants.

The following are things of note:

• The only free item is wood mulch; dirt, topsoil and compost are NOT included.

• The mulch must be collected by the interested parties; we cannot deliver it.

• This option is available to self-load customers and can also be loaded by the ton by our machinery at the facility.

• There are no current restrictions on what kind of vehicle can be used to collect the mulch.

• There are no limits on visits at this time

.• People may be asked to show ID.

• All rules and regulations at Ingleside are still in effect, and all users must still weigh in and weigh out on the scales as per the normal procedure.

• This promotion will end at 4 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 16 or while supplies last.
