City of Burlington Parks and Recreation Department issued the following announcement on Jan. 4.

Get Hiking! is celebrating Year of the Trail with guided, local and free hikes all year long. Join us on Saturday for a 2-mile, guided hike on various paths in and around City Park. Trails will be a mixture of paved and gravel surfaces over rolling terrain. Most hikers are surprised by the size and amenities available in the park!
Following the hike, take a ride on the newly restored and reopened historic Dentzel Carousel in City Park ($1.50/ticket).
All ages welcome. Minors to be accompanied by an adult.
