City of Graham Police Department issued the following announcement on Feb. 5.
The Graham Police Department has conducted a thorough investigation concerning the alleged threats of violence by a student at River Mill Academy. Based on interviews conducted and the information gathered during the investigation, investigators determined that there was no threat to the safety of students or staff at the school.
The investigation also revealed that the statements that were perceived as a potential threat were made a week prior to the information being brought to the attention of school administrators and law enforcement.
The Graham Police Department takes threats to the safety of students in all of our schools very seriously. We will continue to work with all of our schools to ensure the safety of students, faculty, and staff.
